Walgreen’s Earth Day Promotions include $1 ink refills

printer-inkThis Thursday, April 22nd, 2010, Walgreen’s across the country will be celebrating earth day with several great offers, but a deal too good to pass up would be the $1 refill on ink cartridges (both black and white as well as color). As you know, ink refills are often more costly than the printer itself! Be certain to check your local stores to confirm this is true for your location, but from all accounts, it seems to be valid across the US. You don’t have to believe in global warming to support this cause! Keeping our earth clean is smart for our kids, period.

Check out my article on eco-friendly printing while you’re here, to see how changing your font can save you tons of loot!

Besides the fact that all of their earth day products are advertised at 22% off, 30% of the proceeds will go to supporting the World Wildlife Fund. Even though you’d probably be better off just using vinegar and baking soda to clean, and support the nature preserves through your own donations, it’s your choice.

Regardless, the savings to be had on ink for this promotion certainly will be worth any additional wait you may encounter as a result of the huge savings! It’s been said that you may wait several hours instead of one, but who cares, pick it up later.

Check to see if your printer’s ink cartridge’s are refillable at Walgreen’s!

Happy Saving!

Walgreen cannot refill HP ink cartridges. I have tried several times, no luck.

When I go to get refills, will they seal up the cartridge too? If they don’t seal up the cartridge, what’s the best way to preserve them? I live rather far from a walgreens, and would like to make one trip for my many cartridges at one time.

Nana – I refilled my HP cartridges with great success, and did it again today for only $1. My cartridges are the ‘XL’ sizes too, and printing jobs turned out fine.

Eric – They will cover the area where the cartridge communicates/prints with a plastic tab fitted for the specific ink cartridge. They will also put your cartridges in a small cardboard holder for you to carry.
